The Knoxville Bar Association Votes Jonathan Cooper President-Elect in 2024

We are pleased to announce that Jonathan D. Cooper has been voted 2024 President-Elect of the Knoxville Bar Association. Jonathan will take office on December 8. He has served the association’s Board of Directors in multiple capacities, most recently as the 2023 Treasurer.

Jonathan is a career-long member of the Knoxville Bar Association, he has also served as Co-Chair of the Criminal Justice Section in addition to those positions noted above.

He is a member of the Tennessee Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (TACDL) where he has also served in multiple capacities, including as President for the 2019-2020 fiscal year. TACDL presented Jonathan with the Robert W. Ritchie Award for Meritorious Service to that organization earlier this year. An active master of the Hamilton-Burnett American Inn of Court, a historical society of jurists championing ethics in the law, Jonathan also served as Chair of the Knox County Ethics Committee, as well as on the exploratory and advisory committees for the Knox County Mental Health Court. He is recognized as an AV Preeminent Peer Rated Lawyer at Martindale Hubbell, by Mid-South Super Lawyers, and Best Lawyers in America, where he has been named the DUI Lawyer of the Year for Knoxville in 2023 and General Criminal Defense Lawyer of the Year in 2021.
